Bathtoy is banned, all of his deviations were deleted by the admins this morning. Personally, I agree with the admins that he DESERVES to be banned. However, I regret putting his case in my journal, causing some of my angry watchers to swear at him. Although I still have doubts whether his other deviations are actually his work, I have never seen an artist with great talent acting like him. Talented artists are usually very mature mentally. I also checked his “activities”(clicked the activities button), the 4 comments he made since joining DA are all very negative and unconstructive. I have not attended art school but I always have great respect for other artists who work in different mediums or styles. If he doesn’t like my work or my style, that’s his opinion, I respect that. I understand not everyone have the same taste and belief. If all he did was mere flaming or bad mouthing, I would have ignored him. That was in fact what I was planning to do. As soon as I discovered my Carrie Anne Moss piece in his gallery, I was furious, totally lost my temper. In real life I might have caused him some physical injuries. He has absolutely NO RIGHT to do that, not only unethical but also unlawful. I could have sued him if it happened in real life. Considering the effort I put into that piece, considering the admiration I have for the actress, that was a serious insult. I have never been insulted like this before. That nearly tore me apart. To be honest, I was unable to do anything (including drawing and studying) for the past couple of days. Bathtoy might be “young” but I am NOT OLD. Besides, if he had actually learned “art” I doubt if he would be much younger than me, perhaps even older. I am just as inexperienced, vulnerable and insecured as many people here. His actions seriously damaged my self esteem. Yes, that piece might not be “art”, perhaps it’s just a practice piece that I copied from a magazine photo but it doesn’t mean I have no feeling for it. As a matter of fact, it’s one of my favorite drawings, I’m somewhat emotionally attached to it. Hope you understand why I was so upset.

Bathtoy’s English may not be good but I’m sure he has no problem expressing himself. The comment he left on my userpage was Perfect English! Yes, I know he didn’t mean to claim the drawing as his own but that doesn’t mean he did not steal from my gallery, that action alone is a violation, not to mention he used my work to insult me. What sort of person would do something like that to prove a point? What sort of “genius” would do something like that to insult his fellow artists? Although I have doubts about his artistic abilities, I have never said he has no talent nor have I asked my watchers to flame him (I had more or less anticipated that since a lot of them are hot blooded teenagers who were just as furious as me. How could you blame them for defending what they believe?). All I did was telling them what actually happened, hoping they would help me to report bathtoy’s action. I believe nobody has asked the admins to ban him, we only reported his actions, demanding some kind of punishment. The Admins ultimately decided to ban him. It is a proper punishment he deserves. He might be extremely talented, however, “Talented” is not an excuse for his behaviour, I have seen some better artists being banned. In the real society, no matter how talented the person is or whether he knows the consequences of his actions, a crime is a crime, he cannot escape from being punished. Therefore, I’m against the idea of lifting his ban. He might be new to DA but he’s definitely not new to this civilized world!

Perhaps, he’s parents/teachers did not do a decent job to educate him. I’m glad we gave him an education he NEEDED. I hope he can learn something from this, never ever insult people again on the internet or in real life!

I’ve said what I needed to say, done what I needed to do. It is time to say Goodbye now. I have been meaning to leave for a while now. Really really appreciate all your support but simply cannot keep up with so many watchers, comments and faves. Being a University student, a daughter as well as a self taught artist is very stressful and tiring. I need more time to do my work. Also, I don’t think I can afford to be flamed/insulted again. It upsets me too much. There are other good artists, who are very inspiring and helpful, I hope you give them more support and encouragement.
